Leland Foerster is a native Californian who has been
making photographs for some 25 years. He began his
career as a film producer and cinematographer. In
recent years he has devoted full time to fine art
photography.
Leland photographs natural and man-made
landscapes with an artist's eye and a 4 x 5 view
camera. He prints his own images. His subject matter
ranges from the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Coast
and Baja California. He has just released his first formal portfolio, Stone
Legacy, a collection of 12 photographs of
the mission churches of Baja California with an accompanying letterpress
text.
Foerster also teaches photography. His courses are offered through the
Extension Division of the University of California, San Diego, and through his
private workshops.
His photographs are in corporate and private collections and are available as
limited edition fine prints or portfolios. Leland's photographs are represented
by Art Expressions Gallery in San Diego, The Ansel Adams Gallery in Pebble
Beach, and The International Institute of Photographic Authors in San Diego,
CA.
