"Virgin Statue, San Luis Gonzaga"

The statue, surrounded by silk flowers, rusting cans, and burnt candles, sits alone in a dark room adjoining the main sanctuary. It is the saddest, most beautiful piece of sculpture I have seen on the peninsula.
